What does PH Down mean? I went and got my pool water checked today and it said on the instructions to add?
3 and a Half ponds of PH Down. So the total instructions were 10 pounds od Alkaline….20 lbs of Calcium Hardness…then 3 1/2 pounds of PH Down. So is that last instruction for PH Reducer???? Because I have that stuff…… and why add PH with the Alkaline, then reduce it with the PH reducer? Confused is all. Thanks ( new pool owner 3 months)
obviously I need to wait 4-6 hours between each add of the treatment. Just curious about the PH Down, written on my water sample readout sheet. Chlorine level is Normal, just the Alkaline and Calcium levels were a bit out or range….. plus I was told to add Algaecide, because my water had alot of black algae. Due to the fact I forgot to add chlorine tabs over the 4th of July . And No one ever told me to shock the pool after you have alot of people in there at once….like 15 people.
