Enagic USA, the company that sells “kangen water” has a very crafty marketing division. In this article, we’re going to expose their little deception…
If you’re like most people in the USA, you’d probably never heard of Enagic USA and their “kangen water” (or more appropriately, alkaline water) up until quite recently, perhaps a few months ago, or even less… if you were an early adopter, maybe a couple years ago at the most. That’s because water ionizers, alkaline water, kangen water, or whatever you want to call it were just recently introduced to the USA. Don’t worry, you’re not too far behind.
Since water ionizers were brought over here, the company with the most dominant marketing strategy has been the Enagic USA corporation. By running a multi-level marketing operation and offering massive commissions to their dealers, people have been willing to spread the word about these machines in a grassroots movement, in exchange for massive commissions on every sale of these machines. It doesn’t hurt that the alkaline water that water ionizers produce does actually have fantastic benefits, and the fact that it’s marketed as a “miracle cure” means many people are willing to spend whatever amount of money it takes to get their hands on a machine. But the way Enagic USA has been marketing is not the most transparent.
Effects of the Term “Kangen Water”
If you haven’t heard already, Kangen is a japanese word that means “return to origin.” It’s just a marketing term invented by the Enagic USA marketing division, which is a very smart group of people. You see, by copywriting this term and only referring to their water as “kangen water,” anyone searching around in Google for kangen water won’t really know how to find the competition. That’s because the competition is all advertising a quite similar product but with a different name - water ionizers. When I first learned about kangen water, I’ll be honest I had no idea what it was. I was searching through Google and had absolutely no idea how to find any other information about competitors, or scientific studies that had been done. All I could find were web pages from vendors who were trying to sell me their SD-501 machine for almost $4000.
In the time since then, a little more information has come online, exposing Enagic USA’s kangen water deception, but you still have to do a little digging, and so I thought it might be helpful to write this article up in case anyone is just learning about it for the first time. Hopefully nobody else will get sucked into buying one of their highly overpriced machines without at least having knowledge of the competition after having done their homework.
In this article, you learned a little bit about Enagic USA and their evil plot to charge people thousands of dollars more than the next closest competitor, for a machine that doesn’t perform quite as well. If you’d like to learn more about what we think of the products they sell, read our next article which tells you specifically why not to buy a Kangen Water Machine. It’s an eye-opener.
